14 cycles ago, my husband and I tossed the birth control and started praying that God would create a tiny miracle inside of me. After my first laparoscopy and confirmation of stage II endometriosis in May 2006, I had a feeling it would take some time to conceive. I guess I was thinking 6-8 months. 6 months came and went and the endo pain became increasingly unbearable. I had my second lap in Sept 2007 . The pain diminished, but my fertility was not hastened like we had hoped. So, here we are at our 1 year mark, still hopeful, although considered by the medical world to be "infertile." Dr. told us that our chances of conception each month are now 3%. He advised us to try clomid followed by IUI (artificial insemination) 3 times to improve our chances. This raises our chances of pregnancy to 10-12% -still not very impressive, considering younger, healthy individuals have about a 20% chance of conceiving naturally each month. So, we did our first round of clomid and IUI this cycle and are praying that it worked. Even if it didn't, we know God is no less able to perform this miracle in our lives in His perfect timing.
